Unnatural; Tree of good and evil - 2021

The two engravings made for this exhibition have been influenced by illuminated manuscripts and early book publishing where vellum was used for the leaves of the codex prior to the use of paper.

Having never printed on vellum before the process was challenging with no margin for error. In respect of the material, I chose to leave a substantial area on both pieces free of my imagery to allow the vellum to have a voice.
